Da Vinci Swing Bridge
Leonardo da Vinci swing bridge is made of wood and is based on his exact sketch or his swinging bridge. The swinging bridge was designed to allow friends to cross a river but could be swung back to deter enemies or foes.
A swing bridge resembles a gate that allows people and vehicles to cross rivers or canals. When boats need to pass through, the bridge closes; then, it stops traffic by using barriers and signals. Most swing bridges rotate 90 degrees, or one-quarter of a turn. However, one can be built to rotate 45 degrees, or one-eighth of a turn— so as not to obstruct any water vessels’ paths.
